Trucking (DVS 5791)

The aim of the Trucking program is to help students develop attitudes and behaviours that are deemed essential to the practice of the trade such as defensive and fuel-efficient driving, together with courtesy behind the wheel, a sense of responsibility and professionalism, the ability to manage their time, resourcefulness for handling unexpected events and emergencies and for rapid problem solving and to be concerned about projecting a positive image of the company by means of a neat personal appearance and a clean vehicle. The trucking course given through Eastern Shore School Board’s vocational training centres is made possible with the collaboration of Centre de Formation en Transport de Charlesbourg.

There are no registration fees for this program.

Students who are not funded by Service Quebec may need to purchase additional materials, such as: work boots, hard hat, gloves, etc. However, they should speak to their teacher prior to making any purchases

To obtain a Class 1 driver’s licence to be authorized to drive a combination of road vehicles, you must have held a valid Class 5 driver’s licence for at least 2 or 3 years, depending on the situation, have a good driving record, be in good health, and pass a knowledge test and 2 road tests.
