If you have not completed your Secondary School Diploma, the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur (MEES) gives you the chance to earn a Secondary School Equivalency Certificate. This certificate confirms that you possess the general knowledge, skills, and abilities expected from secondary school graduates.

To take the exam, you must be at least 16 years old by June 30 of the current year.

After successfully passing the Secondary School Equivalency Test (SSET/TENS), you will receive an Attestation of Equivalence of Secondary Studies (AESS). While this document is not the same as a Secondary School Diploma, it meets the educational requirements for admission to vocational training programs.

The Social Participation program is part of social integration services in adult general education, specifically designed for adults facing psychological, intellectual, social, or physical adjustment challenges who seek to increase their independence and engage more fully with their communities. Through the three dynamic courses—Looking to the Future: My Social Participation PlanConsolidating My Social Participation Plan, and Taking Steps to Increase My Autonomy and Social Participation—learners develop the necessary skills to create and execute a personal social participation plan by identifying a meaningful project and taking practical, guided steps to realize it in their everyday environment; ultimately, success relies on the collaboration between the individual’s commitment and the support of dedicated staff and community partners, offering a vital opportunity to build confidence, autonomy, and a stronger connection to society.
